I have always lived in my head, in the future, in the past, or in a life outside of my own. In my attempts at finding happiness I have found that happiness is best found in everyday life, in your immediate surroundings, in our loved ones, in gratitude for the present.

I make the type of art I wish I could see – the kind of art that I think best embodies this philosophy, which is illustrations that seek to highlight the beauty hidden away in seemingly inconsequential moments.

For the first time in my life, I’ve returned my gaze to within the borders of Laredo. In traveling and experiencing life outside, I’ve begun to further recognize that Laredo is a shining gold mine of relatability. My art is an attempt to encourage presentness and gratitude for those who also reside on the bridge between cultures.
